Hey Bloo ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform ("Platform"), whether through our website at heybloo.ca or through the Hey Bloo mobile application. Hey Bloo is a platform operated by Plentidots, a registered business in Ontario, Canada. Our data handling practices comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) in Canada.
You can browse businesses, view listings, and use the core features of the Platform without creating an account.
1. Information We Collect
- Personal Information: Name, email address, business details, etc. — collected only if you create an account or contact us.
- Business Information: Business name, description, contact details.
- Location Information: If you use the "near me" feature and grant permission, we read your device's precise location. See Section 3.
- Usage and Analytics Data: Interactions with our Platform, such as pages viewed and features used. See Section 4.
- Device and Log Information: IP addresses, browser type, device type, and similar technical information.
- Content Reports: Information you submit when reporting a business listing — the report itself does not identify you. See Section 5.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain our Platform.
- To facilitate business discovery and user interactions.
- To sort and display businesses near you when you use the "near me" feature.
- To review reported listings and moderate content on the Platform.
- To improve services and user experience, including through aggregated analytics.
- To communicate updates or promotional content (opt-out available).
- To ensure security and prevent fraud.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Location Information
The Platform offers an optional "near me" feature that sorts businesses by their distance from you.
- We request your device's location only when you use this feature, and only after your device asks for and you grant permission.
- Your location is read once at the moment you use the feature. We do not track your location in the background and we do not follow your movements.
- Your location is used on your device to order the list of businesses. We do not store your location on our servers, and we do not share it with anyone.
- If you decline the permission, the Platform continues to work normally using a default area (the Greater Toronto Area). You can withdraw the permission at any time in your device or browser settings.
4. Analytics and Cookies
- We use Google Analytics to understand how the Platform is used in aggregate — for example, which pages are popular and which features are used. This service may collect usage data, IP address, and device or browser information, and may set cookies or similar identifiers on your device. Analytics runs when you use the Platform; we use it only for aggregate measurement, never to build advertising profiles.
- We use cookies and local device storage to remember your preferences, such as your language choice and the businesses you bookmark. Bookmarks saved without an account are stored on your own device, not on our servers.
- We do not display advertising on the Platform, we do not use advertising networks, and we do not sell your personal information.
- You can control cookies through your browser or device settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser opt-out add-on. Disabling cookies may affect features such as saved preferences.

5. Reporting a Listing
The Platform lets anyone report a business listing they believe is inappropriate, misleading, or otherwise objectionable.
- Reports are anonymous. You are not required to sign in, and the report form does not ask for your name or email address.
- We store the report — the listing concerned, the reason you select, any note you write, the page address, and your language setting — so that our team can review it and act on it.
- Reports are reviewed by our team, and listings that breach our Terms may be edited, hidden, or removed.
6. Consent and Your Rights
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- Access, update, or correct personal information.
- Request deletion of personal data.
- Request details about data usage.
- Opt out of marketing communications.

7. Sharing Your Information
- With service providers who process data on our behalf, including Amazon Web Services (hosting and storage), Google (analytics), and our authentication provider. These providers may only use the information to deliver services to us.
- For legal compliance.
- In case of business transfers.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising purposes.
8. Data Storage and Security
Data is securely stored on AWS servers in Canada with industry-standard security measures. Some service providers named in Section 7 may process limited information outside Canada.
9. Data Retention Policy
Personal data is retained as necessary and securely deleted when no longer required. Content reports are retained for as long as needed to review them, act on them, and keep a record of moderation decisions.
10. Third-Party Links
We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices. The Platform links to external websites, including business websites and social media pages; their privacy practices are their own.
11. Children's Privacy
Our Platform is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version and its effective date are shown at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected by a new version published here.
